Already 29th June ...

Holla bloggie :)

It's already June since I hadn't got any updates this few months.
and thanks God, I passed my IELTS test. I took this test on 25th June, and I just knew my result lately, I got band 6. My university asked for band 5,5 so I passed it. I applied for SIM university, Singapore in majoring accounting, but the first year I took diploma. My agent told me that the outcome result if the university will accept me or not can be known on the mid of August, Yaa.. I just wish I could get the best result as well as my sister  who is also applied for the same university as I.

Now I felt very happy as I had decided where the university I would take. Because I had changed my mind from one major to another and also the university. My friend even called me a wishy washy person mean that I'm not consistent on myself. Yaa, mybe it's true, cause I also feel like that situation.. huhu =.= Damn me !

I was just informed by the agent if I has been accepted by SIM, I would have entered the university on September, to have a medical check up first, orientation and start to study on October. It's such a quick day, u know. I hadn't prepared much to start the university and I need to stay far away from my family, besides I will have my only sister who will accompany me there. I haven't also packed anything that I would likely to take, since one of my friend asked me in the early year what things I must pack first to my dorm later. I just answered " I don't know, haven't packed anything" hahhaaa.

Here, I share some experiences about IELTS test.
First, I didn't plan to continue my study in Sg, so I never take any ielts or toefl test to fill my requirements in univ. And I just in a hurry to take this ielts test. I asked my agent where I could take an intensive class for ielts in Medan, and she said in Australian centre, cause my hometown is Siantar, I'm a little reluctant to stay in Medan, since I hadn't got any close relations there, besides my sister and brother who also stay in boarding room. After talking and discussing this with my family, they suggest me to take the class in Siantar, so I found my sister's private teacher to teach us Ielts. I took about 1 month, exactly about 16 days to prepare from the test. I bought some ielts materials in Gramedia bookstore and my teacher also suggest me to study from this.

Ielts test contains of 4 sections : listening, reading, writing and speaking.
listening has also 3 or 4 parts which is its part containing of monologue, dialog parts and we need to hear carefully what the native speakers speak. I found myself difficult to answer in listening, and for me it is the most difficult part overall. maybe because it isn't usual for me to hear in english, since my usual languages are mandarin and Indonesian. but fortunately the first part of listening is quite easy so maybe I add the
point from the first part.

reading has also 3 parts, the parts are containing of filling in the blank, answer the question, choose the appropriate number or alphabet to the sentences or answer the question true, false or not given based on the text. I got the highest band in this part. I don't know why too, I just answered it by my feeling. haha...

then writing has 2 parts, the first part usually about compose what u see based on the graphs, diagrams, process or anything and the second part is to compose something in 250 words which  the topic is such a common topic. If I'm not mistaken, my topic at that time was "We can find many advertisements nowadays, what is the disadvantages and the advantages of advertisements?"
Usually, in my practice at home, I would find myself the most difficult to write and at the time, dunno why many ideas come to me, and I wrote it smoothly. hahaa...

the last section is speaking, it took about 10 to 14 minutes . It also contains of 3 parts, the first part is introduction, the second is monologue speaking based on the topic, and the third is the native speaker will ask us about the common topic. Before the speaking test, I was very strained, afraid if I'm not possible to understand what he speaks. Luckily when the test, I enjoyed it very much, the interviewer was such a nice person, and I answered all the question fluently.
He asked me about the hometown, the perfect house, and what house maybe will people build in the next 10 years?

hahaa.. Overall, I recommend for all the bloggers or others who want to take ielts test, u just need concentration to answer the question, and practice well before the test, it's no matter if u take the courses in a long time or a short time. :))

see yaa bloggie.. Bye :)))
